Refining large quantities? See: Large Scale Gold Refining by Aqua Regia Acid Method. Having described its hazards, it must be pointed out that, like most industrial processes, refining gold in acid is quite safe when performed under controlled conditions. In addition, the results of doing your own refining can be quite lucrative.

What Are Some Ways That Fire Is Used to Refine Gold? To refine gold using fire, place gold scraps in a crucible, and put the crucible in a burning furnace heated to 2,000 degrees. Once the gold melts, pour it into a separate container where all of the impurities and metals float to the surface and can then be skimmed from the top.
To assess and refine the gold, the refiner will need to separate the gold from the other elements and determine how much of each substance there is and what they're worth. How Scrap Gold Is Refined. The most commonly used and one of the most accurate methods for refining gold …
Dec 13, 2017· I think you might be mistaking the process. Use the borax sparingly to just precoat the melting dish, then put your gold powder into the melting dish, and begin heating. If you still have issues with the borax adhereing to the gold, a drop in some room temp water while the gold is still hot should shock the silicates off from your nugget.
Mar 16, 2017· Rub borax inside the crucible before adding gold dust. Use Flux. Flux is a mixture of borax and sodium carbonate. It helps for gold melting. You can mix it with gold dust before melting or during melting. Oil the mold hold and should be preheated. Use ammonium chloride on gold after gold pouring. It will give shine.

The final stage of gold production -- refining-- involves removing impurities that remain after the smelting process.Refining companies receive doré bars, as well as scrap gold, and reliquefy the metal in a furnace. Workers add borax and soda ash to the molten metal, which separates the pure gold from other precious and less precious metals.

Inquarting don't usually applied for high karat gold jewelry (18K-22K) since they have low silver content and can be dissolved directly with Aqua Regia.
The Gravity-Borax Method GBM is still unknown to most Artisanal and small-scale gold miners (ASGMs) worldwide as most still use mercury to extract gold. "Whole-ore amalgamation" is a technique that requires the use of 10–25 g of mercury to produce 1 g of gold.Within the last eight years, it has become evident that this technique is more widely used than earlier anticipated, and artisanal ...
The melting point of gold is 1063 ˚C, which is a higher temperature than can be obtained by cheap torches and burners. By adding borax to the heavy mineral concentrate, the melting point temperature decreases, allowing people to melt gold out of their concentrate and salvage. By using borax, no mercury flour is produced, and gold recovery ...
May 07, 2019· Use flux to remove impurities from the gold. Flux is a substance that is mixed with the gold before melting it. It is often a mixture of borax and sodium carbonate. You need more flux if the gold is impure. You can use many different formulas for flux mixtures. One method involves mixing borax and sodium carbonate.
The borax contribution to flux composition can be up to 60% of total flux weight but is typically around 30-40%. Borates are also used to facilitate the attack of gold ore at a lower temperature and to make the slag more fluid at the furnace operating temperature, thus reducing viscosity. The benefits of Dehybor in gold refining are numerous:
